Thank you to all who helped at the SU Yard Sale!

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped out at the May 14 SU Yard Sale at the Fox Mill Pool parking lot! Despite the drizzle and gloom we were able to raise more than $600  towards SHARE, the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital annual giving campaign.

Contributions to SHARE support:

  • Girl Programs
  • Financial Assistance
  • Leader Training
  • Camping (day and sleep-away)

SHARE Dollars at Work

$25 trains one troop leader.

$55 covers the cost of a badge sash, pin, handbook and registration fee for one girl.

$100 pays for electricity at one of our Girl Scout Camps for a month.

$221 supports one girl in Girl Scouting for one year.

$300 enables one girl to attend summer sleep away camp.

$850 provides bus transportation for 70 girls to a summer day program for a day.

$1,200 supports a grant for one girl to participate in a Girl Scout destination.

$1,700 pays for the cost of environmental education for over 200 girls.

$5,000 sponsors 625 girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs.

We have until September to make our Service Unit SHARE goal of $6,500; with the new donations from the yard sale, we now need to raise about $1,300 to reach our goal!
You can continue to donate to SHARE throughout the year. Donations can  be made directly online or you can request a SHARE envelope by sending an email to gscncsu517@yahoo.com!
SHARE gifts are tax deductible.
