Reston Town Center Holiday Parade

RTC Parade 2012

Is your troop interested in participating in the Reston Town Center Holiday Parade on Friday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m.-noon?

If so, we will be marching as a Service Unit, so please send the following information to SUM Therese Howe by Oct. 15, 2014:
_ Troop No. & Leader Name
_ No. of girls marching
_ No. of adults marching
* Before sending this information, please read all the details below.

Please note that we must apply to march in the parade, and that not all applicants are accepted due to space considerations.

This year’s parade title, “Home for the Holidays” designates an Americana theme, offering a big welcome to members of the military and their families. As always, we encourage participants to get creative and have fun with the theme.

To keep the integrity of the parade, participants should plan to march the parade route in uniform. Only uniformed members of the group are allowed to march (no family members). A banner or signage identifying your group is highly recommended.

Due to the route length, children walking in the parade must be 6 years old or older. For groups with children under the age of 13 one adult representative per seven children is required to walk with the group in the parade.

Troops may hand out candy to spectators, but do not stop to distribute items or toss/throw to the crowd.

Check in: 10:00 – 10:30 am
Parade: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Parade route: approximately ½ mile
